Tess Costil

b. 1997

Tess Costil is an aspiring Auckland based artist, currently studying Communication Design at Auckland’s University of Technology. Her devotion to aesthetics and the finer details flourished into a desire to express herself visually pouring her feelings, beliefs and experiences into her art. Her work utilizes multimedia collage to bridge the gap between the pretty and the powerful. Melding fashion, illustration and photography in an effort to connect with her audience on more than an aesthetic level.

Characterized by bold colours and pictorial representations, the energetic compositions hint at deeper meanings. Which are unveiled through the thought provoking captions paired alongside the works. The vibrant arrangements are explosive, playful and lively, and her experiences are subtly weaved through them.  Passionate about helping others and spreading positivity through art Tess works alongside the Bridge the Gap Project. A charitable trust dedicated to inspiring and educating young people.
